Understanding the 5 bubble foil insulation configurations

Double Bubble Foil

InfraStop® Insulation consists of two outer layers of aluminum foil reflect 97% of radiant heat. Each layer of foil is bonded to a tough layer of polyethylene for strength. Two inner layers of insulating bubbles resist conductive heat flow while a center layer of polyethylene gives InfraStop® high reliability and strength.

Double Bubble White

InfraStop® Double Bubble White Insulation consists of an outer layer of aluminum foil that reflects 97% of radiant heat. The layer of foil is bonded to a tough layer of polyethylene for strength. Two inner layers of insulating bubbles resist conductive heat flow while a center layer of polyethylene gives InfraStop® high reliability and strength.

Single Bubble Foil

InfraStop® Insulation consists of two outer layers of aluminum foil reflect 97% of radiant heat. Each layer of foil is bonded to a tough layer of polyethylene for strength. One inner layer of insulating bubble resist conductive heat flow while an additional layer of polyethylene gives InfraStop® high reliability and strength.

Single Bubble White

InfraStop® Single Bubble White Insulation consists of an outer layer of aluminum foil that reflects 97% of radiant heat. The layer of foil is bonded to a tough layer of polyethylene for strength. An inner layer of insulating bubbles resist conductive heat flow while an additional layer of polyethylene gives InfraStop® high reliability and strength. The last layer is composed of a sheet of white polyethylene.

Under Concrete Pad

InfraStop® Concrete Slab Insulation consists of seven layers. The first layer of white poly is bonded to foil to protect from lime in curing concrete. Each outer layer is bonded to a tough layer of polyethylene for strength. Two inner layers of insulating bubbles resist conductive heat flow while a center layer of polyethylene gives InfraStop® high reliability and strength.

About Reflective Technology

    • Radiant heat, the major source of heat flow, is energy in the form in infared waves. It travels at the speed of light, even through a vacuum, and is either transmitted through, absorbed into, or reflected by any material it contacts. InfraStop® reflects up to 95% of the radiant energy striking its surface.
    • Infared works in the same way a visible light; heat is generated when this energy is absorbed. Common insulation products tend to absorb a large percentage of the radiant energy they encounter. However, tests have shown that one sheet of aluminum in the center of an airspace reflects 95% of radiant heat. This means that heat rays pass through it at a rate of only 5%. Properly installed InfraStop® reflective foil insulation takes full advantage of this by using one or two such surfaces separated by encapsulated air.
    • Reflective foil insulation is used in many of the products and services we use every day. The need to insulate and block radiant heat specifically is paramount in many circumstances. For this reason, foil insulation is commonly used in many applications such as:
    • Agricultural
    • Appliances
    • Automotive
    • Aviation / Aerospace
    • Curtains
    • Electrical Boxes
          • Electrical Enclosures
          • Food & Beverage
          • Marine
          • Medical / Pharmaceutical
          • Packaging
          • Plumbing / HVAC
          • Recreational Vehicles
          • Residential / Commercial Building
          • Spas / Saunas
          • Sporting Goods
          • Transportation
          • Wineries
          • Yurts

Another industry that reflective foil insulation is used extensively in is packaging. Typical products that are used in the packaging industry are box liners, pallet covers, and reflective pouches for storage and mailing. There are many benefits of using reflective foil insulation in the packaging industry.

          • Maintains Necessary Temperature Ranges
          • Reusable
          • Has Thermal Value Properties
          • Flexible and Drable
          • Stops Heat Transfer by Radiation
          • Resistant to Fungi, Mold, and Mildew
          • Enhances EPS Thermal Protection
          • Works with Moisture and Humidity
          • Inhibits Odor Transfer
          • Helps Ensure Product Attributes (Quality, Taste, Texture, Color)
          • Educes Amount of Warehouse Storage by 85% when compared to EPS Material
          • Gives Protective Cushioning
          • Thin and Lightweight
          • Low Emissivity (Does Not Allow Larger Amounts of Energy to Pass Through)
          • Environmentally Safe / Recyclable
          • FDA Approved for Incidental Contact with Food
