Insulating where there is contact with the ground is always tough on insulation. The ground is an infinite heat sink and will constantly pull heat from your living space. Traditional insulation like fiberglass is largely ineffective in below ground applications. The higher the moisture, the worse fiberglass performs.

Radiant Barrier ULTRA CBF is a patented reflective foil under slab insulation product that is designed specifically for these applications. Its effectiveness is impervious to moisture gain and its unique, patented bubble / foil / bubble design assures the highly reflective foil layer is never in contact with corrosive concrete which could decrease its ability to insulate. Concrete Barrier Foil is the strongest, most durable insulation in our under and around slab product offering. The commercial quality of the product makes it ideal for use in radiant heat floor systems, wrapping foundation walls, and any other concrete insulation project. Not only is Ultra CBF a radiant barrier, but it is also an approved vapor, methane, and radon barrier giving you three products in one. Its insulation properties are unaffected by moisture and humidity.

Ultra CBF's proprietary design is comprised of a highly reflective aluminum sheet sandwiched between two layers of industrial strength polyethylene bubbles.  Because the foil is in the middle of the insulation, the reflective surface is not exposed to corrosive chemicals.  The high compression bubbles ensure that an airspace is always maintained for the best possible thermal performance.
